Sauces

BBQ Sauce, Ketchup, and Ranch are just a few sauces to avoid. Check labels for sugar and calorie content, you will be surprised the amount of sugar per serving. Go for sauces such as mustard, Sriracha, and Hot sauce.

Multi-grain bread

What the bread is made of really matters. Multi-grain may not necessarily mean whole grain. Make sure to check the labels and always avoid plain white bread.

Alcohol

According to diet expert Robert C Atkins, alcohol is the first thing your body burns before it moves on to anything else. So until your body gets rid of alcohol from your system, you won’t burn any fat. Beer is also full of empty calories avoid it to help you lose weight faster!

Sugar-free products

While these may be low in calories, consuming them can raise your insulin level, as they often contain unhealthy sugar alternatives. Aspartame is the most common sugar substitute, even though it is toxic to your body.

Diet Soda

ANY soda is going to be a roadblock to losing weight. Though the label says diet there is nothing diet friendly about low-cal/diet sodas. They all contain sugar or sugar additives which is what your body will burn before it burns fat.

100-calorie snacks

These are simply empty calories. Yeah they are only 100 calories but what nutritional value are they? Do they help you lose weight? They do nothing but fill a 100 calorie void that is better suited for foods that burn calories or being 100 calories less for the day.

fiber snack bars

These bars contain fiber, which is essential for you, but the problem is that they deliver it in big doses, not steadily throughout the day. Rachel Harvest, a registered dietitian affiliated with Tournesol Wellness in New York says, “Fiber intake has to be consistent throughout the day to stave off hunger, improve digestive health, and not cause stomach upset.”

Tropical fruits

Fruits make for great snacks when on a diet but there are some that you may want to avoid if your goal is to lose weight. Go easy on fruits such as mangoes and ripe pineapples as they are especially high in natural sugars.

Microwave popcorn

According to the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), the chemicals found in bags of microwave popcorn are known to increase the chances of developing infertility and thyroid problems. Popcorn is a great low-calorie snack, just not when it comes out of a bag filled with additives.

Fruit juice

Fruit juices are very little of the juice you want, with Apple Juice as a filler. You aren’t getting the fiber and all the sugar, including orange juice! Skip this for a glass of water and actual fruit.

“Low Fat” foods

Consuming these may put you at risk of inadvertent binging, as they create the illusion that you’re not consuming many calories. Manufacturers often replace natural elements with chemicals to make these foods “low fat” including more sugar. Remember there are fats that are good for you!

Salad Dressing

Salads are great for anyone dieting. It’s the dressing that gets you into trouble. A serving size may seem reasonable until you actually measure it. You may think you are going low calorie with a nice spinach salad but you could be adding hundreds of calories with your dressing.married fitness lose weight married fitness lose weight
